Approaching the half-way mark of the 2015 season Andrew Horne (Xena Chemicals / Budd Power Royale) has a 15 point lead over closest rival and defending champion Graham Hepburn (Suburban Body Shop Ray) at the head of the Investchem Formula Ford Kent championship race. Hepburn, in turn, has a seven point lead over Matthys Strydom (Sage ERP Africa Talon). The trio are likely to be at the head of the field when they head to Phakisa Freeway for the fourth round of the championship on Saturday, 4 July 2015.
Former champion Ian Schofield (Investchem Mygale) and Jeff Gable (Taylon Motorsport Van Diemen), who are fourth and fifth on the championship log, are likely to be up with the leaders as is David Jermy (Matt Nash Motorsport Van Diemen), whose results this season do not reflect his pace.
Joe Nash (Swift), Dean Venter (Manitou Group Swift) and Allen Meyer (Van Diemen) are all capable of challenging the front runners on their day.
Qualifying at the Free State circuit gets underway at 08h30 with the first of the two 8-lap races scheduled to begin at 11h00. Race 2 should begin at 15h00.
