Matthys Strydom leads Ian Scofield

The fourth round of the Investchem Formula Ford Kent Championship will be one of the feature events when the  Midas Historic Tour visits the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on 12 July 2014.

Leading the championship going into the mid-point of the season is Ian Scholfield in his Investchem Mygale. He has a slender six point lead over Matthys Strydom (Sage /Suzuki Bramley Talon) with Andreas Petrou in an Investchen backed Reynard a further nine points back.

Looking to upset things at the top of the table are a number of competitors from the Midas Sport Formula 1600 national championship series. Graham Hepburn (Suburban Body Shop Ray), who won the second race at the last outing at Zwartkops early in June, will be looking to build on that result. Allen Meyer (Van Diemen), former champion Andrew Horne (Investchem /Xena Chemicals Royale) and Dean Venter are other entrants who also take part in the national series.

Qualifying is scheduled to get underway at 09h00 on Saturday morning with the lights going out to signal the start of the first 8-lap race at 12h10. Race 2 should get underway at 16h30.
